A Common view on Problems of Corruption and Parliamentary Democracy

A political leader is looking sometimes a guardian, criminal, and miscreant differently is always a problem to identify him. Such a dilemma is penetrating the Parliamentary democracy.

During the hard lockdown against the COVId-19 pandemic, I went out of my home for a bit of time to fetch some milk for tea. My wife was not happy to go outside because the situation of the outside was sensitive. Recently amid the COVID-19 pandemic, the government has suddenly passed to ordinances related to the breaking process of any party and other the meeting of the constitutional board. The shopkeeper was very anxious and cast a lecture over ten minutes, the subject. I was amazed by the prudence and logic of a common man.

Many countries are running under the parliamentary system of democracy in the world. After the end of the cold war, parliamentary democracy became more popular than the authoritarian monarchy and Marxist type of proletariat dictatorship in the world. The modern concept of parliamentary system emerged in Great Britain from 1707 to 1800 AD. The constitutional type of Monarchy also accepted in British democracy. However, the system became stable after a long struggle between King and parliament.

After about four hundred years later we also are breathing in the air of the parliamentary system of democracy and are still a popular political system. Many communists who condemned this system also accepted it as a strategic way this time

. However, corruption is an infectious disease that always searching the weak points to penetrate the system. Sometimes we feel that the corrupting network is very stronger than the governmental formal network and decay the government’s organs. It spears as a pandemic in the world. Corruption is pushing countries toward serious disorders like injustice, bad governance, nepotism, and poverty; especially under developing or developing countries.

Political parties are recognized as a major pillar of democracy. The principle of the parliamentary system offers a trustful position for political parties in the function but the conduction of the parties has been looking very suspicious. They are doing expensive activities and an expensive election campaigning also says much doubt about their non-accountability. Inside the screen, they selling candidacy in the election, important appointments are not doing on the basis of quality but the underground money bid.

We have never seen any large political party that is not using money and muscles. Big or small musclemen, Businessmen, industrialists who want to use the state to earn profit legally or illegally are becoming the main support for political parties.

Theoretically, common people may compete in the elections but it is practically impossible only the lack of money and muscle for them. In this practice parties totally failed to intact their member’s dedication to the party. Political parties are principally recognized as the real represent of People but looking failing. The nexus with the illegal elements of parties often comes on the surface. I felt it was the status of people. In the meantime policeman blew the whistle, I run back to home with the question that political parties really, should not be in correction?
